Job Description

We are seeking for qualified individuals to fill-in the position of Health, Safety, Environment & Training Coordinator at our Head Office in Kokopo. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and HR Manager, HSE & Training Coordinator, he/she is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing OHSE policies, procedures, programs & mapping out training plans and delivering trainings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan & implement OHSE policies, procedures & programs
  • Prepare and present reports on GENCO, trainings, accidents and violations and determine root causes
  • Collaborate with Managers to monitor compliance and to identify safety & training issues
  • Liaise with and report to PNG official regulatory bodies on OHSE & Training matters
  • Oversees and directs the entire process of accident investigation/analysis
  • Conduct organisation-wide training needs assessment and identify skill or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Map out, design and develop annual training programs and select appropriate training methods
  • Manage and maintain inhouse training facilities and equipment’s

Job Requirements

  1. Tertiary qualification in Occupational/Environment Health & Safety
  2. 3 – 5 years hands-on experience in HSE & Training coordinator or similar role
  3. In-depth knowledge of best HSE practices & compliances
  4. Certificate IV in OHS
  5. Must have an in-depth knowledge of OHSE guidelines, their implementation, training programs and practices
  6. Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Management Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar role
  7. Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
