A young volunteer Humanitarian Development Advocate with the passion for helping others achieving a better future for themselves, a fighter to reduce unemployment rates, increase literacy and quality of education standards, vocal in cross cutting issues that affect families and communities in Papua New Guinea, and wherever opportunity for him to go and help arises, he goes go out and assist voluntarily. Mr. Towa assisted over 600+ job seekers gaining full-time employment and or career/job changes since he started assisting job seekers in 2014. Assisted others by reposting current job vacancies, editing their CVs, writing job application letters, and providing job interview tips, he also shares information and assisted others with overseas scholarships information and tips, and other vital tips and advices consistently via his most followed and popular Facebook group called the ‘Current Job Vacancies Report with LT’ which currently has over 200, 000+ members – https://www.facebook.com/groups/321979381331034/
Apart from his Facebook platform, and assisting job seekers via Email, WhatsApp and or job seekers making appointments with him to go see him for consultations from where is lives, he also goes out running numerous Job Search Tips Training Workshops. Most times he gets invitations from schools, communities in settlements, and Churches to go run sessions which he loves going there and running his sessions for free of charge. When there is no invitation but if he sees that the interest he gets is there, he normally book presentation venues, and cover all necessary training costs, and go out running his trainings, only for this kind he used to charge small reasonable fees, just to meet the light refreshment costs for his participants during the training. Most of his self funded Job Search Tips Training Workshops he runs from Port Moresby. But apart from Port Moresby, he already visited Madang, Kerema, Mount Hagen, Kundiawa, Goroka, Kainantu and Lae and ran his trainings. He is planning to cover every towns of Papua New Guinea, and to reach the unreached and toughed the untouched.
“The inner satisfaction I get when someone succeeded in getting a job is the best reward money cannot buy,” Mr. Towa.
Graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Psychology from the University of Papua New Guinea, he currently works with the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
In 2017, he was awarded the United Nation Youth Champion for Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, by the United Nations in Papua New Guinea, in 2018 he was awarded by the Commonwealth as a Commonwealth Youth Award Finalist for Excellence in Development Work, he travelled to England and received this award, and had the opportunity of a lifetime to meet Prince Harry and his wife to-be that time Meghan Markle. And also in 2018, he was awarded the 2018 Young Men of Honour winner by the Digicel Foundation, for Mr. Towa, all these awards came to him within a time period of only 4 years, just because of his humble services to humanity,
His father is from the Kerowagi district, Chimbu Province of Papua New Guinea, and his mother is from Jiwaka and Madang provinces of Papua New Guinea. Mummy is a house wife, she died when he was just two month old, while dad was a Kiap during colonial days till he became the first Premier for the Chimbu Provincial Government, dad decided not to remarry when mum died, Lazarus is his parent only child, his dad died in 2009 when he was in grade 11 at Don Bosco Technical Secondary School in Port Moresby. Lazarus Towa birth date was on the 2nd September 1989, and he is still single with no children.
